Alhaji Yahaya Bello concludes his term as the governor of Kogi State today, and Usman Ahmed Ododo is set to be inaugurated as the newly elected governor.
Notably, both Bello and Ododo belong to the Ebira minority group in the state.
It's noteworthy that, since 1999, all previously elected governors, such as Abubakar Audu, Ibrahim Idris, and Idris Wada, have hailed from the Igala ethnic group, which constitutes the majority in Kogi.
