On October 5, 2023, Justice Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, issued a production warrant against Nigerian musician Azeez Fashola, known as Naira Marley. Naira Marley faces 11-count charges related to conspiracy and credit card fraud, brought forth by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
During the recent court session, Naira Marley's defense counsel, Olalekan Ojo, SAN, informed the court of the singer's absence due to being detained by the Police for questioning in connection with the murder of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, also known as Mohbad. Ojo requested an adjournment of the trial.
In response, the prosecution counsel, Bilkisu Buhari, requested a production warrant to ensure Naira Marley's presence in court for the next adjourned date. Justice Oweibo granted this request and adjourned the trial until October 30, 2023.
