SACKING OVER CERTIFICATE FORGERY

The Supreme Court has upheld the decision of the Federal High Court in Abuja to remove Mr. Christian Abah from his position as a member of the House of Representatives, representing Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadigbo Federal Constituency in Benue State.

Justice Adeniyi Ademola of the Federal High Court made this ruling on February 8, 2016, due to Abah's submission of a forged academic certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). As a result, the court instructed INEC to issue a new certificate of return to Mr. Hassan Saleh, who was the first runner-up in the Peoples Democratic Party's primary election on December 6, 2014.

The public now awaits whether the Supreme Court will take similar action in the case of Mr. Tinubu, who is also facing allegations of certificate forgery.
