Dr. Akin Fapohunda, who drafted a regional bill, said: “This week, we returned to the old national anthem. At independence, Nigeria embraced a regional system of government. I believe we could revisit the past and return to regionalism.
“I have created a preliminary draft for Nigerians to consider. Next week, I will meet with my representative in the House of Representatives. We hope that senators and House members can support this modest proposal for change.
“If this is acceptable, we can then proceed with a formal drafting of the bill,” he continued.
“I hold a PhD in Agricultural Science but work in Information and Communication Technology. I have been involved in constitution drafting for years,” he added.
