EFCC PROBES EL-RUFAI'S ADMINISTRATION

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has formed a team of investigators to probe the alleged mismanagement of N423 billion by former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai and key figures in his administration.

The investigation will summon El-Rufai for questioning, alongside other individuals including all Finance Commissioners from May 29, 2015, to May 29, 2023; all Accountant Generals during his eight-year tenure; and the Chairpersons of the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) from 2018 to 2023.

Additionally, all former Managing Directors of the Kaduna Market Development and Management Company Ltd within the same period, and the former Managing Directors of Kaduna Roads Agency (KADRA) from October 11, 2017, to November 2021, except for Amina Ja’afar Ladan, who served for a brief one-month period, will also be questioned.

“We have received a petition from an NGO and have begun investigating the issues raised. The Ad-Hoc Committee report from the Kaduna State House of Assembly will aid our investigation. We will soon invite El-Rufai and some members of his team for interrogation. The House of Assembly’s report provides a solid foundation for our probe,” a source said.
