Today, we have officially established a nine-member Visitation Panel for Abia State University, Uturu (ABSU), a renowned institution within our state. The panel's primary objective is to conduct a comprehensive review of ABSU's activities and structures spanning from 2019 to 2023. Its mandate is to propose recommendations aimed at reinstating the university's status as a beacon of genuine excellence in tertiary education nationally and internationally.

Each member of the panel has been meticulously selected based on their expertise and proficiency in the field of education. The panel comprises:

- Prof. Steve Okorodudu (Chairman)

- Prof. Rose Nwabueze

- Prof. Mrs. Abiola Awosika-Fapetu

- Dr. Sonny Ajala, SAN

- Prof. Ngozi Osarenren

- Prof. Nnenna Oyidie Okeh

- Mr. Emmanuel Okpechi, FCA

- Dr. Confidence Ogbonna

- Mr. Dodoh Okafor (Secretary)

I implore all ABSU stakeholders, including management, faculty, students, alumni, and the wider community, to extend their full cooperation to the panel and furnish them with the necessary information and assistance. The panel is expected to conclude its assessment within 90 days and present its findings to me.

As the Governor of Abia State, I am steadfast in my commitment to the revival of ABSU as a trailblazer in research and innovation. This initiative aligns with our overarching goal of positioning Abia as the leading state in the nation. It is imperative that the activities at our university mirror the excellence we aspire to achieve.

I extend my gratitude to the Chairman and members of the panel for accepting this crucial task, and I wish them every success in their endeavors.
