The Federal Government announced on Thursday that a new minimum wage will be implemented starting April 1, 2024, replacing the current N30,000 minimum wage, which expires at the end of March 2024.
Minister Idris Mohammed emphasized ongoing negotiations with Labor, highlighting the formation of a committee to address the wage issue, ensuring a comprehensive salary structure for workers nationwide.
Palliatives have been introduced to alleviate economic challenges until the new wage regime takes effect.
