Nyesom Wike, known for years of alleged corruption and involvement in oil bunkering in Rivers State, continues to seek an enormous monthly allocation of N2 billion from the state's funds. His recent attempts to exert control faced resistance when Governor of Rivers State Siminalayi Fubara, responsible for the funds, refused to comply, causing internal strife as loyalists of both parties clash.

Efforts to mediate by outside forces, including the Villa, have failed due to Wike's refusal to cooperate.

The situation has escalated into a conflict between Wike's and Sim's supporters, highlighting the power struggle within.
