N-POWER PROGRAM SUSPENSION

The N-Power program, administered by the Federal Government, has been indefinitely suspended, as announced by Minister Betta Edu of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation during an interview with TVC News.

This decision stems from numerous flaws within the program, prompting a government investigation into fund utilization since its inception. The Minister noted discrepancies such as beneficiaries not fulfilling their assignments but expecting monthly stipends and some who should have exited the program in 2022 still being on the payroll.

The suspension is aimed at conducting a thorough investigation, determining the current program participants, outstanding payments, and restructuring N-Power to address these issues while expanding its reach. Approximately 80 percent of beneficiaries are not actively working despite claiming salaries.
