Mahdi Shehu responded strongly to President Bola Tinubu's decision to pursue a conflict with Niger Republic.
He expressed concern that Tinubu's move might be driven by extreme desperation, with a significant chance of losing at the election tribunal.
Shehu also speculated that Tinubu could use the war to declare an emergency rule, potentially resulting in a long delay of any future elections.
