Police in Malawi rescued a newborn baby girl after her 21-year-old mother, Olivia Jonas, buried her alive in the Lunzu area of Blantyre. Jonas claimed she had miscarried when her husband returned home, but the truth was discovered when questioned by nurses at the hospital.
The baby was found alive and healthy after being exhumed from the nearby forest where she was buried. Olivia Jonas is currently receiving medical care at the hospital and will face allegations of hiding a child's birth.
