COOKING GAS PRICES INCREASE

Cooking gas prices are set to increase next week, as indicated by industry experts.

The President of the Nigerian Association of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Marketers, Olatunbosun Oladapo, has cited reasons such as rising international prices, high taxes, vessel costs, forex scarcity, and currency devaluation for the upcoming price hikes.

Consumers are expected to face challenges due to reduced purchasing power, and some are turning to alternatives like firewood and charcoal. The shortage of vessels in the international market is contributing to the higher local prices of Liquefied Natural Gas.

These factors are causing concerns among both consumers and retailers, prompting calls for government intervention to ease the burden.
