GOVERNOR REDUCES WORKDAYS

Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, held a meeting with labor leaders in the state on the recent elimination of fuel subsidy. In a statement released by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Rafiu Ajakaye, it was clarified that the subsidy removal was implemented to prevent further harm to the economy.

In order to mitigate the impact of the subsidy removal on the salaries of state civil servants, the governor has approved a reduction in their workdays from five to three.

The statement mentioned, "Governor #RealAARahman of Kwara State engaged in discussions with prominent labor leaders on Monday, expressing his sincere intentions behind the removal of fuel subsidy to safeguard the economy. Furthermore, to alleviate the impact of the subsidy removal on their income, civil servants in Kwara State will now have a three-day workweek instead of the current five days. The civil service authorities will provide additional guidance on the implementation of this measure, including its implications for healthcare workers and teachers."
