African Action Congress (AAC) 2023 Presidential Candidate, Omoyele Sowore, Releases Comprehensive Breakdown of Campaign Expenditures
Sowore Calls on Other Presidential Candidates to Publicly Disclose Campaign Funding Sources and Expenses
In adherence to the principles of transparency and accountability that are deeply rooted in the African Action Congress (AAC), the Sowore Political Action Committee (SPAC) has unveiled the final breakdown of campaign donations, funding sources, and expenses for the 2023 Presidential election.
Throughout the campaign, the committee provided monthly updates, and this release marks another occasion where we are sharing a comprehensive breakdown of our financial activities. It is worth noting that in 2019, our AAC candidate became the first in Nigeria's electoral history to disclose a complete breakdown of campaign expenses.
Beyond the monetary contributions received, we cannot overlook the invaluable support of countless Nigerians who dedicated their time and effort to rally behind us. These individuals demonstrated unwavering commitment, embodying the principles of honor and integrity. We express our heartfelt gratitude to all of them.
Furthermore, the Campaign Organization takes this opportunity to challenge other Presidential candidates, including the one currently in office, to disclose their campaign financial records, if any were kept at all. We sincerely hope that those who solicited public donations during the campaign season will also provide an account of the contributions they received from donors across Nigeria and beyond.
A transparent leadership selection process is imperative for our nation, and it is unacceptable for candidates to conceal their campaign expenditures. We firmly believe that those who fail to maintain proper records and transparently account for their expenses are ill-suited to effectively govern a country like Nigeria.
Signed,
Femi Adeyeye
