40 VEHICLES RECOVERED (VIDEO)

Security Forces Retrieve 40 Vehicles from Zamfara Governor Matawalle's Residence

In a decisive operation, heavily armed security personnel carried out a raid on the residence of Bello Matawalle, the former Governor of Zamfara State. The raid took place in his hometown of Maradun and resulted in the recovery of 40 vehicles.

Governor Dauda Lawal, who succeeded Matawalle, had expressed his dismay during his inaugural speech, highlighting that his predecessor had taken numerous vehicles while leaving the state treasury depleted.

According to a statement issued by Sulaiman Idris, the spokesperson for the governor, the police conducted the operation based on a court order. They obtained a search warrant to legally enter and search Matawalle's residence.

The statement further disclosed, "As a result, the police obtained a search warrant, which was duly authorized by the court, leading to the raid on Matawalle's residence in Gusau, Maradun Local Government, as well as an undisclosed hideout."

Among the vehicles recovered were three bulletproof vehicles and eight SUVs, making a total of over 40 vehicles retrieved from the operation.

"We want to emphasize our commitment to reclaiming all assets belonging to the people. Our collective determination is to rescue and rebuild Zamfara. The recovery of illicit proceeds and public assets plays a vital role in our mission to save the state," the statement concluded.
