SOYINKA: NIGERIA'S LITERARY ICON — PETER OBI

Peter Obi visited Professor Wole Soyinka and he reminded Wole the significant sacrifice he made before the outbreak of the civil war when he fought for the cause of the Igbos.

Yesterday, I had the privilege of visiting one of Nigeria's most esteemed individuals and a renowned international literary figure, Professor Wole Soyinka. I hold Prof. Soyinka in very high regard as a father figure for his remarkable accomplishments and his unwavering commitment to a better Nigeria.

His reputation as a champion for justice and fairness in our society is legendary, and it is something we should never forget. During our meeting, we had a fruitful and enlightening conversation about his vision for a more prosperous and inclusive Nigeria.

I also took the opportunity to remind the Nobel laureate of the significant sacrifice he made before the outbreak of the civil war when he fought for the cause of the Igbos.

Overall, I treasured my visit on Sunday as it helped dispel any misconceptions about the relationship between the great icon and the obedient family.
