CULTISTS CLASH IN SAGAMU

Reports indicate that a clash between suspected cultists in Sagamu, Ogun State, has led to the death of at least three individuals. The clash, which took place on Tuesday, involved members of the Eiye and Aiye confraternities who engaged in their usual supremacy battle by shooting at each other. As a result of the ongoing fracas, commercial activities have been brought to a halt in some parts of Sagamu. Several people were also injured in the attack, causing fear among residents.

According to sources, one of the victims, a petrol attendant at Awabat filling station in Ijokun, was shot dead on Friday night by unidentified persons. While it is unclear if he was a cultist, the incident has been attributed to the ongoing clash.

The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the deaths and stated that many of the cultists have been arrested by the police. He added that the Commissioner of Police has directed tactical teams to be on standby, and efforts are ongoing to arrest more suspects.
