2023 ELECTION: LAWSUIT FILED FOR 25% REQUIREMENT

A significant lawsuit has been submitted to the Federal High Court in Abuja on behalf of residents and voters of the city.

The lawsuit aims to prevent the swearing-in of officials on May 29th, 2023 until the Election Petition Tribunal determines the question of the 25% vote requirement for the Federal Capital Territory, as outlined in the constitution.

This injunction ensures the preservation of our constitutional democracy, guaranteeing that only those who meet the constitutional requirements are sworn in.

The Presidential Election Tribunal may choose to delay the process, but the lawsuit ensures that the inauguration is postponed until the constitutional requirement is fulfilled.
