OPC FIRES CHAIRMAN OVER AN ALLEGED ₦35 MILLION ELECTION BRIBE FROM TINUBU

Adedeji Aladesawe, the Oodua People's Congress's Osun State coordinator, has been fired by the organization's national executive council and national coordination council for reportedly accepting a ₦35 million bribe from President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Adeyemi Aboderin, another chieftain, has subsequently taken his post. Before recently, when he was ordered to vacate his position, Aladesawe served as the OPC coordinator in Osun State.

He was replaced by Aboderin, who is now the Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Osun State Council. He was the OPC Secretary in Osun State.

The OPC NEC and the OPC Board of Directors unanimously approved Aboderin's nomination, according to a statement released by the organization's publicity secretary on Sunday.

When contacted, the former Osun State Coordinator of the group, Aladesawe, said that he was removed by the OPC National Coordinator, Chief Gani Adams, on the allegations that he collected ₦35m from the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, to mobilise support for him in the build-up to the last presidential election.
