Father Mbaka apologizes on behalf of Nigerian pastors: "Churches Were Defiled, Turned Into Grounds For Politicking, Atrocities During Elections.".
Fr. Ejike Mbaka, the spiritual director of the Adoration Chaplaincy in Enugu, has prayed for God to pardon church leaders for their voting choices in the 2023 presidential election.
According to him, the All Progressives Congress candidate Bola Tinubu was declared the winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission. Along with their candidates in the election, the Peoples Democratic Party and the Labour Party have filed lawsuits to contest the results.
The outspoken Catholic priest told the congregation on Wednesday at his Adoration Ground that the positions the church leaders adopted ruined God's altar. "God, forgive us, forgive the Church, we have gotten it wrong this time," Mbaka prayed.
