HOPE FOR JUSTICE AS COURT DROPS MAJOR CHARGE AGAINST NNAMDI KANU

Hope of acquittal becoming real for Nnamdi Kanu as FG drops major charge

The Court of Appeal on Tuesday, September 13, reserved its judgment on an appeal filed by Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB's leader

Also, the court has stricken out the motion for an accelerated hearing filed by Kanu's legal team on his behalf

It was also gathered that the federal government has dropped one of its charges made against the southeast agitator

This is as Human Rights Lawyer, Mike Ozekhome (SAN), who leads the delegation of legal practitioners representing the IPOB leader, urged the Court of Appeal, Abuja, to strike out the charges made against Kanu on grounds of incredibility,

It was gathered that Kanu’s legal team, led by Ozekhome, brought up a strong defense over allegations of terrorism and treasonable felony.

The IPOB leader's legal representatives through an appeal marked No: CA/ABJ/CR/ 625/2022 challenged the remaining allegations against Kanu.

However, during the hearing, the court struck out the motion for an accelerated hearing filed by Kanu's legal team on his behalf.

Also, the court reserved the judgment on an appeal filed by Kanu, seeking to quash the terrorism and treasonable felony charge.
