ILLEGAL BUNKERING CAMP DISCOVERS IN BAYELSA

In Bayelsa, the Nigerian Army discovered an illegal bunkering camp.

In the Southern Ijaw LGA of Bayelsa State's Igbomotoru community, the Nigerian Army discovered an illegal bunkering camp.

Rear Admiral Aminu Hassan, the commander of the Joint Task Force in the Niger Delta, informed journalists at the organization's headquarters in Igbogene, Yenagoa, that the camp is run by Endurance Amaegbe, a reputed militant leader.

The suspected militant and his group, who are determined to operate the illegal refinery, have repeatedly vandalized a major pipeline carrying crude oil and other critical infrastructure, according to Rear Admiral Hassan. He described this as economic sabotage to the nation.

The Commanding Officer of the 343 Artillery Regimen, Elele, Lieutenant Colonel Philemon Malgwi, who oversaw the operation, showed journalists around the illegal crude oil refinery camp that was about 1.5 kilometers from the center of Igbomotoru. He claimed that they started dismantling the operations of the alleged oil thieves, who are also terrorizing people along the waterways, in June 2022.

According to him, the Operation included other Southern Ijaw areas like as Ikebiri, Azuzuama, and nearby creeks in addition to Igbomotoru as a result of tips, information, and intelligence obtained.
