POPULAR WORDS AND BELIEFS THAT ARE NOT IN THE SCRIPTURE - RENO OMOKRI

According to Reno Omokri, a popular politician, political activist and an active Christian leader, has dropped another insight on some good unscripturals briefs that are not in the bible.

The followings are his words;

1. Cornelius was the first non Hebrew to convert to Christianity. (Actually it was the Black African Ethiopian who was the first non Hebrew convert-Acts 8-26-38).

2. Forgive and forget (does not occur in Scripture and the disciples forgave but remembered-2 Timothy 4:14)

3. Money is the root of all evil (actually Scripture says “the love of money is the root of all evil”-1 Timothy 6:10)

4. God works in mysterious ways (this was actually a quote from a man named William Cowper)

5. Be in the world, but not of the world (not a verse of Scripture, though it sounds good)

6. Heaven helps those who help themselves

7. Cleanliness is next to Godliness

8. Every believer will go to heaven (actually many will live on Earth-Matthew 5:5, Revelations 5:10)

9. The wise men (the number was not stated, and they are not referred to as wise men, but as Magi, from where we get the word magic-Matthew 2:1)

10. Trinity, Christmas and Easter. (Each of these words do not occur in Scripture. Read Acts 12:4 in every version except KJV. The KJV, for reasons best known to them, changed the word Passover, or Pascha, used in the original Scripture, to the pagan word Easter)

11. Eve ate an apple (No. the actual Hebrew word used is mip·pir·yōw, meaning fruit-Genesis 3:6)

12. Rapture (this word does not occur in Scripture)

13. Limbo (this word does not occur in Scripture)

14. Cross (the original word used in Scripture is staurō or xylou. Staurō means pole, while xylou means tree. If in doubt, read Acts 5:30 in the KJV. They forgot to change the word Tree to Cross in that particular verse).

15. Church. (the actual word used in the original Scriptures is Ecclesia, which means gathering).
