Along the Murtala Mohammed Expressway between Gwarimpa Estate and Kubwa in Abuja Territory, sporadic gunfire has been recorded amid an explosion of violent protests by members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN).
According to additional accounts, a number of pedestrians have been assaulted, numerous vehicles commuting in the vicinity have been vandalized, and property has been harmed.
Several nearby roadways have been obstructed, causing traffic congestion. As more security officers arrive on the site, an escalation of violence is likely.
