Zurmi is one of four Local government area in the northern part of Zamfara state. It has an estimated population of over 950000 inhabitants.
Today, as Nigeria is celebrating its 59 independent anniversary, but, Zurmi Local Government Area is celebrating this memorable day with total blackout for over six consecutive months now.
The indigenes of Zurmi asked if they celebrating independence day, or mourning the days they spent without light?
