22 YEAR-OLD DOMESTIC STAFF MURDERS HIS EMPLOYER AND HER MOTHER IN LAGOS WITHIN 24 HOURS OF EMPLOYMENT



A 22 year old young man identified as Joseph Ogbu was apprehended for the murder of his employer, Oreoluewa John, 38, and her 89-year-old mother, Adejoke John, at their residence at Number 4 Ogunlana drive in Sururlere, Lagos state.

The Command Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, said that they received a call at about 3am today, from No 4 Ogulana drive in Surulere that one Joseph who is from Oju Local Government Area, Benue State and who was employed as a domestic staff on 18th June, 2019, murdered his employer Oreoluwa and her 89 years old Mother at their home.


After much interrogations, the suspect confessed to the Crime.

According to him, he said that his employer asked him to clean the house at about 9pm of 19th June, 2019 but along the process, they had an argument between themselves, which resulted him to stab her with a knife. As a result of the shock, her aged mother slum and die.


Since the both were dead, he decided to moved out some of their valuable Properties like electronics, handsets and household items into the employer's Toyota Camry Salon Car and when he was attempted to escape to unknown destination, he was apprehended by Policemen on patrol at Ogunlana pin down point.

All the stolen items were recovered including the vehicle. The two corpses have been deposited  in Mainland hospital Yaba for autopsy.

The suspect is already in police custody waiting to be charged to court.
