FRIENDS WATCHED A FRIEND DROWNED AND DIED IN UNI ABUJA

A fresh student of University of Abuja identified as Emmanuel Balogun got drowned and died while his shared his belongings and abandoned him there at Dome hotel pool in Abuja. 

The 17 year old and his friends went to a party thrown for fresh students over the weekend at the Dome hotel, they moved to swim pool to swim, on the process of swimming the deceased started struggling in the pool and his friends were there watching him until he stopped struggling and drowned.

It was on Monday evening when a girl called the deceased parent to tell them their son was absent in the class, is like something has happened to him and she ended the call. 

The deceased mother called her line again, it was switched off. She alerted her husband, they called their son's number immediately and it was switched off too. They drove to the son's hostel that evening Monday, he was absent.

They made inquiries and got information that a party was thrown for 100 level students last weekend at the Dome hotel. They rushed to the hotel, saw the hotel manager who told them that there was a case of drowning in their hotel over the weekend but he referred them to the police. 

The Police now led them to the mortuary to see the body. Surprisingly, it was their son.

The next morning, they went to the police demanded to see the CCTV footage of what happened in the hotel over the weekend.

So from the CCTV, they noticed that the deceased entered the pool with 3 of his friends around 3.33am and started struggling in the pool. His friends were watching him until he stopped struggling and drowned. Immediately, one of them took his handset, the other took his trouser and brought out the money inside the pocket and wore his shoes and there was a time they grouped together to discuss for a minute. They left the hotel by 4.18am according to the footage they viewed.

The now went to the school arrested three of them and the hotel manager.

Later one of the boys confessed that he wanted to raise an alarm to save the boy but the other two boys stopped him. They added that the deceased always doing shakara because his father is wealthy also the other one said all the girls in the school always admiring him, so he should let him be joor.

It was the deceased that paid 2,000 naira for each of them for gate fee, and bought fish and juice which they drank.
