The Federal Government has planned to shut down the Akanu Ibiam international Airport because of some security reasons.
The Minister of State for Aviation, Hadi Sirika stated in Lagos at a stakeholders forum on Friday that the runway length is not perfect for sure operation as a result of that the airport will be degraded for international operations.
He added the need for free trade zone, market and television masts to be relocated in order to make the airport fit for safe flights.
