The EFCC has issued a directive to foreign missions and Nigerian embassies abroad, mandating them to conduct financial transactions exclusively in Naira, prohibiting the use of foreign currencies.
This action aims to combat the dollarization of Nigeria's economy and safeguard the value of the Naira.
The commission highlighted the illegality of invoicing consular services in dollars, citing relevant laws, and emphasized the importance of adhering to Nigeria's monetary policies.
Additionally, the EFCC has resumed raids to enforce these regulations, recently arresting Bureau De Change operators involved in unlawful currency trading activities.
