President Tinubu has sent a letter to the Senate, notifying them of the appointment of Ruby Onwudiwe as the replacement for Eke as the South East nominee.
Senator Godswill Akpabio, President of the Senate, announced the nomination on Wednesday, stating that Onwudiwe, nominated to join the board of directors of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), will undergo the necessary screening and approval process.
This follows Eke's withdrawal from the nomination due to prior commitments at the World Bank and other financial institutions.
