The Chairman of Nigeria's Cement Producers’ Association (CEPAN), Prince David Iweta, is prepared to assist the Federal Government in reducing cement prices within 30 days to address the issue.
He noted that the association had foreseen the current situation and had warned the government about the consequences of entrusting cement production and supply to a select group.
He emphasized the imbalance between demand and supply, stating that the industry's limited players cannot meet the needs of Nigerians.
Earlier warnings from the association aimed to prompt government action to prevent the current predicament.
