Today, at approximately 3:30 am, on Friday, December 1, 2023, unidentified gunmen launched an attack on the residence of the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Lokoja, Kogi State.
The armed assailants engaged in a 30-minute gun battle with security personnel until reinforcements arrived. While there were no casualties, property damage occurred.
A joint security team has been dispatched to safeguard the residence. This incident follows a recent mob encroachment on our state office, emphasizing the need for a comprehensive investigation and heightened security measures to protect our personnel and assets in Kogi State.
