COP28 NIGERIAN DELEGATION CLARIFICATION

President Bola Tinubu led a delegation of 1,411 Nigerian participants to COP28 in Dubai, clarifying that not all were government-sponsored.

The group includes business leaders, environmentalists, climate activists, journalists, and representatives from various sectors.

Senior Special Assistant Temitope Ajayi emphasized the diverse stakeholders attending, debunking misconceptions about government funding.

Prominent figures like Tony Elumelu and Abdul Samad Rabiu, committed to sustainability, are part of the delegation, with their expenses covered independently.

The President focuses on advocating for fair climate decisions, emphasizing Africa's unique challenges in the energy transition debate. Tinubu's active participation dispels notions of a mere ceremonial presence, showcasing Nigeria's commitment to global climate discussions.
