NNPP has accused Rabiu Kwankwaso of causing the defeat of Kano governor Yusuf Abba at the State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal. The party alleges that Kwankwaso betrayed NNPP to secure a ministerial position in President Bola Tinubu's government.
Alhaji Abass Akande Onilewura, a NNPP chieftain in the Southwest, stated that this loss validates the anti-party claims against Kwankwaso and emphasized that it wouldn't have happened if Kwankwaso had followed due process and chosen the most qualified candidate instead of his inlaw.
NNPP also warned Kwankwaso to stay away from the party to prevent further betrayal and hijacking for personal gain.
