CONDOLENCE FOR PROF. IRUKWU — PETER OBI

I express my deepest condolences to the family of the late Professor Joe Ogbonna Irukwu, SAN, the first Nigerian Professor of Insurance, and Former President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide. The news of Professor Irukwu's passing has left me profoundly saddened. He was not only a highly accomplished lawyer, but also a true patriot, a distinguished educator, an esteemed author, and a renowned figure in the insurance industry.

During my early days in business and banking, I had the privilege of receiving invaluable guidance and counsel from Professor Irukwu. I will forever be grateful for his wisdom and support. His significant contributions to Nigeria's economy through his active involvement in the insurance sector cannot be overstated. As a professor and educator, he authored numerous influential books that have enriched our understanding of the nation's economic landscape.

Professor Irukwu was a remarkable individual who transcended tribal boundaries and dedicated himself to the positive development of our nation. His absence will be deeply felt by the entire country. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, as well as to the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide and the nation as a whole. May God provide comfort to his grieving loved ones and grant eternal rest to Professor Joe Ogbonna Irukwu.

We will always remember and honor Professor Irukwu's remarkable legacy. His profound contributions to the field of insurance and his leadership within Ohanaeze Ndigbo will forever be etched in our hearts. May he rest in eternal peace.
