According to Reno Omokri, Ahmed Bola Tinubu has been preparing for the 2023 presidential election since 1998. He has strategically placed allies, including a former Lagos Commissioner in a top position at INEC, judges he appointed as Governor now in the Court of Appeals, and key political figures like Lawan and Gbajabiamila in positions of power. Additionally, he has appointed a significant number of Buhari's ministers, helped business owners become billionaires, and supported journalists and military generals, expanding his patronage network.
Tinubu's preparation may even result in favorable treatment from the judiciary, similar to the INEC's support for him. Tinubu and Godswill Akpabio learned from MKO Abiola that money can do what money cannot. However, Tinubu has also perfected the art of emotional suppression and stooping to conquer, surpassing other Nigerian politicians.
Rather than belittling his intelligence, the PDP should study Tinubu's tactics and learn from them. To become a Chess Grandmaster, one must study their opponent's plays for months. By studying Tinubu, PDP can outmaneuver him, as Erdogan did to Fethullah Gülen, ultimately destroying his political base.
