The All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Adamu Garba has challenged the Federal Republic of Nigeria for allowing a Senator to serve a jail term in the foreign land.
He added that if not for weakness of Nigeria and stenches of colonialism, Ike Ekweremadu should not have serving a jail term in the foreign land, he should be been repatriated back to Nigeria and face Nigeria.
"If not for weakness of our system and stenches of colonialism, how can a Senator of the Federal republic of Nigeria, Ike Ekweremadu serve a jail term in the foreign land?
Would America, the UK or any European country allow that?
No matter the offense, he deserve to be repatriated back to Nigeria, face Nigeria court and be sanctioned by the Nigeria law.
I see this as an assault to our sovereignty, laws and the status of our statehood in the international sphere."
