The Kabiyesi, Ooni Enitan Ogunwusi of Ife was delighted to witness the commissioning of the sea port in Imo State. 

 

Kabiyesi said: "Nigeria's economic demography and unique spirit of commerce are owed to centuries of significant contributions by the Igbos, who have demonstrated persistence, business sagacity, and insight. It is worth noting their entrepreneurial zeal and extraordinary can-do attitude.  

 

With the commissioning of the sea port in Imo State, Ndi Igbo will now have a direct route to the sea, which will benefit Nigeria's corporate culture's competitiveness. This endeavour remains one of the cornerstones of expanding what Igbos symbolise in Nigeria—commerce expertise.

 

It's a new entry point for exports and international trade. The dredging of the Ogbuta/Orashi to the sea has finally become a new economic power for our joint prosperity.

 

I must commend the compelling doggedness of His Excellency, the Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, who, as the Chairman of the National Economic Council, sees through the eyes of national interests and shares the vision of our distinguished Governor of Imo State.

 

Senator Hope Uzodinma, who is affectionately regarded as the "Drummer," a man who seeks to build a new reality for the Imo, Ndi-Igbo, and Nigeria who are hugely innovative and hardworking.

 

I'm very thrilled to be part of the entire success of Igboland. Ndi-Igbo will now build another Lagos in Imo and throughout Igboland. I’m persuaded of this. Therefore, let's celebrate this huge turnaround for the Eastern economy!
