3 POLICE OFFICERS FIRED FOR DISCIPLINARY OFFENCES



According to the Public relations officer, force headquarters Abuja, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi said that three police officers were fired for disciplinary reasons. 


"The Misuse of firearms against a number of police officers from Special Protection Unit (SPU) Base 1, Kano, and a subsequent orderly room trial of the affected police officers by the Force Provost Marshal.


Three officers from SPU Base 1 Kano have been fired for engaging in dishonorable behavior, such as misusing firearms, abusing authority, acting in grossly indisciplined ways, and wasting live ammunition.




As a group, Inspr.  Dahiru Shuaibu,  Sgt. Abdullahi Badamasi and Sgt. Isah Danladi served as an escort for a musician in Kano. On Friday, April 7, 2023, while performing their duties in Kahutu Village, Katsina State.


Despite police policy against firing into the air, standard operating procedure, and applicable Force Orders, the officers fired shots into the air repeatedly, disregarding the potential risk to the nearby crowd, which included children.


The behavior embarrassed the Force and the entire country in addition to being illegal and impolite.


The Nigeria Police Force hereby urges all officers to make sure they carry out their responsibilities in accordance with current laws to avoid breaking their terms.


In order to make sure their men are familiar with all necessary standard operating procedures, supervising officers are also required to give them frequent and in-depth lectures.
