GOVERNORSHIP RESULTS IN TWO STATES ARE REJECTED BY INEC.

The INEC of Nigeria rejects fabricated governorship results from the states of Abia and Enugu.

According to reports, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) rejected the allegedly inflated and inconsistent results from the governorship elections in the states of Abia and Enugu.

Recall that the Labour Party representatives and governorship candidate in Enugu State objected to the results compilation of Nkanu East council, alleging that the votes were tampered with.

At the same time, it was rumored that political thugs in Abia State's Obingwa council area had interfered with the results' collation.

Due to these, the electoral umpire in the two states on Sunday decided to halt the process.

A representative of INEC stated that the commission had rejected the allegedly padded results following a careful examination of the procedure on Tuesday and wanted the proper actions to be taken.

The source stated, "INEC ordered that the results for Abia State should be announced based on the accredited voters.

According to the source, the commission has similarly mandated a review of the outcomes of the Enugu State Governorship Election that took place last Saturday.
