PASTOR SENTENCED TO SEVEN YEARS IMPRISONMENT OVER N59.7M FRAUD



Judge Sherifah Solebo of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, sentenced Cletus Ilongwo, a presiding pastor, Power of the Holy Ghost Evangelical Ministry, to seven years in prison for fraud of N59.7 million. 


Ilongwo was first charged by the EFCC's Lagos Zonal Command on November 5, 2018 on 11 counts, to which he pleaded "not guilty".


He was later re-charged on June 16, 2022 on an amended seven-count charge, which in turn of receiving 59.7 million naira under false pretences.
