A Chinese citizen, named Mr. Geng was arrested by Nigerian police for killing his Nigerian girlfriend, Miss Ummukulsum Buhari in the Janbulo area of Kano Metropolitan on Friday night.
A family source said, Mr. Geng At around 8:00 p.m., came to the house and frantically knocked on the door, then broke into the house at around 9:00 p.m.
The deceased's mother recounted what happened, saying he pushed her away, entered her daughter's bedroom and stabbed her to death.
"When we got tired of his knocking, I came out and told him to stay away from our house, but he pushed me away and went straight to her room and stabbed her," the mother said.
"Then we started screaming and neighbors came to our aid and held him. She was immediately taken to hospital where she was later pronounced dead."
Although the police have not officially spoken about the case, security sources have confirmed that the expat has been arrested.
The source said, Mr Geng dated Ms Buhari for years before she dumped him to marry a suitor in Nigeria.
Her marriage recently fell apart when her husband discovered her conversations with Mr. Geng on his phone and suspected that they were still dating. After the marriage clashed, Mr. Geng came back, but Ms. Buhari refused his last assignment.
