UNKNOWN GUNMEN ATTACK SOLDIERS AT CHECKPOINT IN ANAMBRA

Unknown gunmen stormed Agulu, a hamlet in Anambra state's Anaocha local government area, on Saturday, forcing soldiers at a roadblock to flee.

According to a viral video, hoodlums in Hilux and Toyota jeeps drove through the military checkpoint set up by Agulu town hall along the Agulu-Nanka road and opened fire on the troops, forcing some of them to flee.

Although speakers in the viral video stated that several of the soldiers were slain on the scene, there was no casaulty but gunshots were heard.

The attack in Agulu came less than 24 hours after hoodlums massacred five persons in a drinking joint in Osumenyi, another village in Anambra state, on Friday night.
