The leadership of the Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) has filed a lawsuit at Federal High Court in Abuja, calling for a referendum for Biafra agitators.
The CNG's spokesman, Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, said that a judge had been assigned to hear the case.
The group's leaders, as well as the plaintiffs' lawsuit, Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, Nastura Ashir Shariff, Aminu Adam and Balarabe Rufa’i l joined the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami; Senate President, Ahmad Lawan; Speaker, House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila; and the National Assembly as defendants.
Instead of constitutional review, the defendants, according to the CNG, should immediately offer a framework for the actualisation of the agitators' demand for self-determination.
