BIAFRA: GMB MUST MEET NNAMDI KANU — OBJ

The former president of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo has cried out that President Buhari must meet with Nnamdi Kanu, the Leader of Indigenous People of Biarfa (IPOB) before things gets out of hand.

He said this while speaking to news men. He pointed out that he as then president met with the Niger Delta militant leader in 2006 to resolve issues and attacks on on GOVT installation in that region. He wondered what is wrong with Buhari meeting with Nnamdi Kanu. He further added that he would do it or encourage it if...

In addition, he said, 'I would want to meet Kanu myself and talk to people like him,  people of his age, [and ask:] ‘What are your worries?’ Not only from the southeast but from all parts of Nigeria.”

He further said that, the Army’s “heavy boot” response to pro-Biafra sentiment is “not the solution” and added that the secession craved by IPOB, is not the way forward either.

In conclusion he said, “We need to satisfy the youth in job creation, in wealth creation, in giving them a better, fulfilled life, in giving them hope for the future. There’s no easy way out.”
