The first civilian Governor and Former Governor of Lagos State, Alhaji Lateef Jakande is dead. He died early hours of today, February 11, 2021 at the age of 91.
Lateef ruled as the first civilian Governor of Lagos State from 1979 to 1983.
He later served as the Minister of Work under the Sani Abacha military regime.
Late Alhaji Lateef until his passing day remained one of the last icon of our nationhood and in whose life is enormous examples that people can get inspiration from in the much-needed drive in rebuilding their psyche as a people.
His legacies in Lagos State, where he was the first civilian Governor, remain emblematic of good government and infrastructure development, not just in Lagos State but in the whole of the country.
May Almighty Allah accepts his soul and grant him Aljanah Firdaus.
