GOV IKPEAZU VISITS EROSION ACCIDENT AT ABA

The Governor of Abia State Victor Okezie Ikpeazu visited the collapsed portion of road at East Street by River layout yesterday and promised to fix it immediately and delivered within the next few days.

He has this to say:

"I visited the collapsed  portion of the road between East Street and the Ogbor Hill Bridge earlier today, and I assure you it will be fixed immediately and delivered within the next few days.

I also ordered that all adjoining roads leading to that spot be cordoned off immediately to safeguard lives of citizens and I appeal to you all to avoid that area for safety reasons.

The job was done in 2012 but I feel the first culvert was not reinforced properly, allowing underground water to gain ground and do this damage.

A contractor has been mobilized to site today for repair works and should be ready for use in few days."
