DON'T PAY MORE THAN ₦1,800 FOR ELECTRICITY — NERC TELLS UNMETERED CONSUMERS

National Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) said that before April 2020, that all unmetered residential houses shall not be invoiced.

Therefore, NERC has instructed all the 11 electricity distribution companies in the country to stop billing unmetered consumers more than ₦1,800 per month. This means 78 kilowatt per hour monthly which is equal to ₦1,800.

This was as a result of protest by consumers in the country, concerning shocking bills they always received at the end of the month, notwithstanding they have not been provided with meters by the Disco's.
