The Senator representing Anambra South and the national leader of Young Progressive Party (YPP), DR. Ifeanyi Patrick Ubah was on Friday being October 18, 2019 visited the scenes of the Upper Iweka and Ochanja market and also to see the survivors of inferno that are presently receiving treatment at Toronto Hospital Upper Iweka Onitsha.
Also visited Elite Club Onitsha and thanked them for donating water used in extinguishing the flame of fire that generated as a result of the tanker explosion that happened at Omagba Onitsha.
He promised them that he's working towards a bill that will prevent the reoccurrence of such tragedy in the country again.
He has this to say:
"Today, I left Abuja to personally visit the scene of the fuel tanker explosion that occurred at Upper Iweka Road and Ochanja market, Onitsha yesterday, culminating to the loss of many lives and destruction of properties worth millions of Naira."
"I also visited victims of the explosion who are currently receiving treatment at Toronto hospital, Onitsha and Omoba Phase 2 where another fuel tanker explosion occurred in the early hours of today after a tanker laden with fuel fell."
"I learnt that the tanker caught fire after spilling its content, the fire destroyed vehicles, shops and houses in the vicinity."
