It was gathered that the ladies killer was captured in a hotel's CCTV, where he had murdered another female victim.
An eye witness who pleaded anonymity said that the alleged killer was arrested in Bori, Khana local government area of Rivers.
Also, three suspects, linked to a spate of killings targeting women in Nigeria's oil-rich Rivers State have equally been arrested, police said on Wednesday.
A woman was rescued by police in the city on Wednesday after he attempted to strangle her while she slept in a hotel room they shared, Police spokesman Nnamdi Omoni told journalists.
He said : "The young woman escaped because she was able to raise the alarm at about 2am. She was sleeping when she suddenly woke up and saw the man who brought her to the hotel charging at her,"Omoni said.
"Ladies were advised to know the kind of men they entrust their lives to."
The suspect said:
"No be clear eye I take kill those girls, forgive me"
Notorious serial killer confessed that it's his village people that were remoting him around, he said.
